Reggio Emilia holds a workshop on the effects of climate change

LIFE CITYADAP3

It took place online last Thursday, June 24th, a workshop dedicated to the effects of climate change in the city of Reggio Emilia.

The meeting was held in the framework of Life CityAdap3 project and it was primarily dedicated to companies and business associations involved in the project’s local stakeholders group. The objective was the construction of a common basis of knowledge, from which the group will start in three years long co-design journey.

The speaker, doctor Rodica Tomozeiu from Arpae (the regional Environmental Agency), started from a theoretical and general introduction and then deepened the climate dynamics in Emilia-Romagna region and in the city of Reggio Emilia, with data since 1970 and projections to 2100. The emerging picture is the one of a territory already facing an increase in summer temperatures that will become more intense in the next decades, with many more torrid days and tropical nights, with bad consequences for the most fragile part of the population.
